Get Ready for Pioneer Launch Day!
Dear Colleagues,
I would like to share some good news from the Division of Enrollment Management.
First, as many of you may already know, the Office of Financial Aid has relocated to the Cynkus Family Welcome Center. This move makes a lot of sense, allowing the team to work more closely with the rest of the Enrollment Management staff, strengthening collaboration while enhancing our ability to serve current and prospective students and their families. (For those of you who prefer to call rather than visit, please note that Financial Aid phone numbers have not changed.)
Second, I am excited to tell you that next week the University will welcome deposited students and their families to campus for our first-ever Pioneer Launch Day, which will be held on Friday, July 17, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. This special event offers incoming students an opportunity to experience campus before they arrive next month for Move-In Day and Orientation. Throughout the day, they will have the chance to visit their residence hall and check out their room, meet with a financial aid counselor and their success coach, review transfer credits, have their student ID photo taken, learn about student employment opportunities, enjoy lunch in the Dining Commons, visit the bookstore, and get answers to any questions they may have. It’s a great opportunity for them to get a head start on their Pioneer journey and begin building meaningful connections with the University.
The Office of Admissions is looking for volunteers to help make the day a memorable experience for our new students and their families. If you are available, I encourage you to lend a hand by signing up here.
For everyone else, I encourage you to wear blue and orange for Pioneer Launch Day and, if your schedule allows, take a few moments to greet our guests and introduce yourself. Your time, enthusiasm, and friendly conversation can make a lasting impression on students and families as they envision becoming part of the Utica University community.
